Police Officer Shoots And Kills Man At Neosho, MO Truck Stop

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal shooting involving a Neosho police officer at a truck stop in Neosho, Missouri.

The Department says officers were called to Love’s on I-49 and Highway 86 in Neosho because of an intoxicated person. Before the officers arrived on the scene, the allegedly intoxicated man drove away, reported KSPR.

Officers claim when they pulled the man over for a traffic stop, he got out of his car, pulled out a hand gun and pointed it at an officer.

An officer then shot the man dead. The officer was not injured.

There is no camera footage currently available to confirm the officers’ story, and the only non officer involved was killed, so we do not get to hear his side of it.

Neosho Police have not released the man’s name, but say he was a 52-years-old from Tulsa.

His body has been sent by the Newton County Coroner to Kansas City for an autopsy.

The investigation has now been turned over to the Missouri Highway Patrol Criminal Investigation Division of Drug and Crime Control.
