Off Duty Cleveland Cop Fatally Shoots Man At Bowling Alley

An off-duty Cleveland, Ohio police officer moonlighting as a security guard fatally shot a man late Saturday at the Corner Alley bowling alley in Cleveland’s University Circle neighborhood.

A fight broke out inside the bar and the off-duty police officer/security guard, Sgt. Dean Graziolli, 51, escorted several men outside, with the help of other bar employees, reported Cleveland.com.

A 21-year-old man who was thrown out came back to the bowling alley and started a fight with the officer near the front door. The identity of the man has not yet been released.

After a little brawling, Graziolli apparently wasn’t doing too well, so he decided to kill the man. with his gun.

A witness said he heard two gunshots. The man was taken to University Hospitals, where he died, according to police.

Graziolli said he suffered several bruises and cuts on his face, head and body. He received several stitches and gets 3 days of paid administrative leave to recover.

 

Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams showed up to the scene, and left after refusing to answer questions from a reporter.

Police made no mention of any weapons being used by the man killed by the officer.
