GOP Senator Heller Removes Stage 4 Cancer Patient From Town Hall Because She Asked About Healthcare

Republican Senator Dean Heller (NV) had his security officials remove a woman with stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma from a town hall after she tried to question him about the future of the Affordable Care Act.

In the Twitter video below, Laura Packard can be seen addressing the senator about the implications of the Senate’s tax plan on healthcare only to have two men remove her from the room.

Writing on Twitter, Packard said she had been warned to keep quiet by Heller’s “goons” before the town hall began.

“@SenDeanHeller’s goons threatened me before the event even started. (Srsly, wut?) Then he read my question from the stage, so I stood up to add to it. This is what happened next.”

In May, Packard tweeted that she has stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

“I have stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma. 1st chemo today. Obamacare is literally keeping me alive & can get me cured. If it survives. #SavetheACA,” she wrote.

Packard also questioned why she was singled out, suggesting Heller has an “enemies list.”
