Aurora Police Fatally Shoot Man During Traffic Stop

An unnamed man has become the 5th person to be shot by Colorado police in just 6 days.

Aurora Police fatally shot the man following a traffic stop for undisclosed reasons, reported The Denver Post.

The incident occurred at 11:58 p.m., when officers conducted a traffic stop near East Smoky Hill Road and South Mobile Way.

Shortly after that traffic stop, an Aurora Police officer fired several shots at a man in the vehicle. The man was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

As expected, no officers were injured in the killing.

Police refused to give details on what led up to the shooting, and they have not identified the deceased man or the officer that killed him.

The officer has been placed on paid leave.

Aurora’s major crimes/homicide unit and crime scene investigations took over the investigation after the killing.
